Former employees in the Nottinghamshire coal mining industry or their partners and any dependant children after the death of the former miner.
Fill in the contact form, and one of our community volunteers will contact you.
We provide grants for mobility aids including scooters, stairlifts, home adaptations to support independent living, funeral expense, hardship, debt relief and education/training to help with employment.
Yes. All grants are means-tested and based on hardship and essential need. In assessing submissions, a number of factors are considered including, income, any benefits, outgoings, recent expenditure and savings. As part of the submission process, you will also be asked to provide evidence of all financial matters.
Grant awards may vary depending on your particular need, the type of equipment and your circumstance, which will be discussed at your assessment.
There is no limit to the number of applications, but only one grant will be awarded in any 12 month period.
You will need to request a home visit by one of our experienced community volunteers, who will assess how best we may be able to help you. If appropriate they will then help you complete a grant application form and help you obtain a quote for the equipment or service you are needing help with.
Our community volunteers may also provide advice and guidance on accessing welfare benefits.
We also consider applications for grant support via our partner CISWO via their personal welfare team.
All grant requests are considered by the Trustee Board. Grants are discretionary and take into account your particular need, financial circumstance and the assessment report compiled by one of our community volunteers or CISWO personal welfare team.
Subject to your needs and circumstance, you may be asked to make a contribution towards the cost of the equipment or service, alternatively we may approach other charities to help.
We will write to you and let you know. If successful, payment will be made direct to the supplier of the equipment or service, who will then contact you directly about delivery or provision of their service.
For further information or to request a referral, please contact us by email admin@nmwtf.co.uk or complete the online contact form and one of our community volunteers will be in touch.
